Accounts Payable Specialist 

An Accounts Payable Specialist is currently needed for a position in Philadelphia, PA. This position offers $20 an hour.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist include:



  • Maintains Accounts Payable policies and controls, fiscal controls and safeguarding the organization’s assets Adhere to approval thresholds in alignment with departmental policies.

  • Maintains Accounts Payable records and reports, including regulatory and management reports The accurate logging and reconciliation of void and reissuance transactions.

  • Prepares, records, verifies, analyzes and reports Accounts Payable transactions manual check request, voids, and stop pay allocations against the GL.

  • Ensures that transaction entry verification procedures are followed.

  • Research, issuance, and processing of outstanding check letters in accordance with department SLAs.

  • Processing of voids and reissues on an adhoc basis.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners such as Accounting and AR Team to complete analysis and resolution of GL account.

  • Validation and research of positive pay file, EFT, and general bank inquiries.

  • Complete daily reconciliation of claim and check activity and resolve variances as required.

  • Responsible for daily customer inquiries associated with payments both internally and externally.

  • Extensive trending, research, and analysis on outstanding payables.

  • Participate in projects as needed as well as suggest, develop, and implement process improvements.

  • Perform other tasks as needed.


Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma (college degree preferred)

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities 

  • Ability to actively engage with team members in completion of daily tasks, problem resolution, and strategic planning 

  • Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions as to root cause 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
