As a Learning Design Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering effective learning solutions tailored to specific audiences across various functional areas at Independence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and fellow learning specialists to develop comprehensive learning materials that bolster job performance and boost overall productivity. Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design:

Develop innovative and impactful learning strategies, encompassing a mix of classroom and virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, microlearning, and blended learning.

Clearly define learning and performance objectives, outlining content structures, curriculum plans, and design documents to serve as roadmaps for the creation of learning materials and assessments.

Content Development:

Adhere to Independence University's design and development standards to produce engaging, high-quality learning materials. This includes participant guides, instructor guides, presentation files, handouts, job aids, videos, audio recordings, and other educational assets.

Employ logical organization techniques to simplify complex information for optimal comprehension.

Adapt and transform existing content into fresh and effective learning solutions.

Learning Enhancement:

Design and craft interactive learning activities, sustainers, knowledge checks, and pre/post assessments to enrich the learning experience.

Create impactful instructional graphics that aid in conveying key concepts.

Formulate assessments, including situational and scenario-based questions, to reinforce learning.

Multimedia Integration:
-
Utilize authoring tools to create diverse learning resources, such as eLearning courses, microlearning modules, simulations, videos, audio clips, and animations.

Integrate available external learning resources, such as reference materials, electronic books, documents, and LinkedIn Learning assets, into blended learning solutions.

Content Management:

Maintain, update, and efficiently manage existing curriculum and course materials within a centralized repository.

Oversee review and approval processes, including collaborating with subject matter experts and conducting quality assessments.
Qualifications for the Learning Design Specialist Role:

A bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, instructional technology, or a related field is preferred. A master's degree in a related discipline is a plus.

Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development.

Demonstrated expertise in creating effective learning solutions for diverse audiences in various formats, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and blended learning.

Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning assessment techniques.

Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design and eLearning development.

Strong proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software).

Experience with multimedia editing tools for creating engaging learning content.

Ability to work with learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant software platforms.
