Job Title: Toxic Torts Paralegal
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Toxic Torts Paralegal to join our client to support a team of attorneys handling complex toxic tort litigation matters. This role plays a critical part in managing cases from inception through trial while ensuring accurate documentation, organization, and litigation support. The position is onsite in Charleston, South Carolina and offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative office setting. This is a direct hire position focused on long term professional growth and meaningful legal work.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Toxic Torts Paralegal:
  • Support multiple attorneys by managing toxic tort litigation matters from case opening through trial preparation and resolution
  • Draft and prepare routine legal documents, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and other complex case documentation
  • Coordinate discovery efforts, document reviews, factual research, and e discovery processes using litigation support platforms
  • Maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, track billable time, and assist with trial preparation and case strategy support
Qualifications and Skills for the Toxic Torts Paralegal:
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with exposure to toxic torts, product liability, environmental, asbestos, or complex litigation preferred
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, experts, and external vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in an active litigation environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat Professional or Adobe DC, and familiarity with e discovery or document management systems such as Relativity or Nextpoint
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program strongly preferred, with a Bachelor’s degree considered a plus
