Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Temporary Accountant to join our client in Montvale, NJ (work from home on Fridays)! This position will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of key balance sheet areas and supporting the accounting close process. The Temporary Accountant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP and assisting with various accounting tasks and projects as assigned. This Contract opportunity offers up to $25/Hour!

Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile, document, and approve assigned accounts in accordance with US GAAP standards.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, including but not limited to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accrued Expense accounts.
  • Analyze assigned accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries.
  • Assist in the monthly accounting close procedures, including period end cut-off and recording of journal entries.
  • Identify areas of internal control weakness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly consolidated reports to the parent company, including review of reporting packages from other business units.
  • Collaborate with the Consolidation team to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of reporting packages prior to transmission.
  • Complete various assignments, tasks, and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1 year or less of general accounting and financial reporting experience in industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Warehouse preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate via telephone and collaborative applications.
