Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Director of Credit & Collections to join our client for a remote opportunity (must be located in EST)! The Director of Credit & Collections plays a crucial leadership role within the treasury team, overseeing the management of customer credit, collection, and cash functions. This position involves conducting in-depth analyses of complex and confidential financial matters, requiring a thorough understanding of corporate finance, credit analysis, statistical methods, and computer applications. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity offers $60-$72/Hour!

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer credit and collection processes and policies.
  • Analyze and interpret the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, including establishing and monitoring credit limits and terms.
  • Manage and execute the requirements of trade credit insurance policies.
  • Implement system changes to enhance the quality of invoicing and collection procedures.
  • Design and implement processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables.
  • Enhance and enforce debt collection processes for overdue invoices or payments and initiate legal procedures if necessary.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture that promotes collaboration with Sales, Operations, and other departments.
  • Support both short and long-term cash position goals in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Evaluate data, research issues, and prepare reports and presentations for management.
  • Assist the Treasurer with risk management and global insurance programs.
  • Benchmark current internal processes against best practices and lead the team to improve performance across all goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US internal controls.
  • Oversee team productivity and workload to maintain a balanced workflow and high-quality outcomes.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • International travel 5-10% (Canada).
  • Manage a team of 6-8 employees.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment; foster personal growth opportunities.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and assess job results; coach and counsel employees; develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establish strategic goals; identify and evaluate trends; choose a course of action; define objectives; evaluate outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • 8 to 10 years of diverse experience in B2B credit and collections, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent listening, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.
  • Successful in interacting with customers and company personnel at all levels.
