Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our client in Jacksonville, FL for a hybrid opportunity! The Cost Accountant is responsible for conducting in-depth cost analysis, comparing projected costs to actual expenditures, and generating comprehensive reports that guide budgeting decisions. This role plays a key part in optimizing financial processes by monitoring both fixed and variable costs and assisting with financial close activities. This permanent opportunity offers $80,000-$90,000/year!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and maintain expense data within internal systems.
  • Design and refine cost accounting systems and procedures.
  • Identify and track fixed expenses such as salaries, rent, and insurance.
  • Monitor and record variable expenses, including material costs, labor, and operational expenditures.
  • Analyze actual costs against projections, identifying discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Generate detailed budget reports for various departments and for overall business operations.
  • Evaluate and report profit margins, contributing to financial planning.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Propose cost-saving measures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage fixed assets and related reporting.
  • Collaborate with marketing and general accounting teams to provide cost estimates for new products.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP software (minimum 1 year).
