Job Title: Underwriter
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Underwriter to join our client to support regional underwriting operations and drive profitable growth across new and renewal business. This role focuses on evaluating risk, maintaining underwriting quality, and contributing to revenue goals while adhering to established guidelines. The Underwriter will work closely with internal teams, carriers, and clients to strengthen relationships and improve binding outcomes. This is a permanent, hybrid position based in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Compensation:
$70,000 to $90,000 per year
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Underwriter:

• Deliver comprehensive underwriting analysis for new and renewal accounts using financial data, underwriting tools, and risk assessment methodologies
• Oversee endorsements, audits, loss documentation, inspections, and related underwriting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with program standards
• Maintain high quality underwriting files by resolving audit findings, supporting quality control reviews, and meeting required timelines
• Partner with sales, marketing, carriers, and clients to address non routine inquiries related to premiums, accounting, endorsements, and policy changes
• Identify growth opportunities and contribute to regional business planning by analyzing performance results and market trends

Qualifications and Skills for the Underwriter:

• A degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent underwriting experience will be considered
• Two to four years of property and casualty package underwriting experience with carrier authority across one or more carriers
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Pennsylvania or domiciled state property and casualty license within twelve months of hire
• Strong organizational, communication, and desk management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with underwriting systems, analytic tools, and Microsoft Office applications
