Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Coder to join our client for a remote opportunity (must live in Tri-State)! The ideal candidate will hold a Coding Certification (CCS or CPC) and should prominently display their credentials on their resume. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate medical coding related to technology assessments, medical policies, claim payment policies, and ad hoc coding projects. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity is offering $26.66-$30/HR!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Legal, Sales and Marketing, Product Operations, and others, to develop code lists for benefit application, mandate application, and group exception requests.
  • Review coding sources and provide recommendations to create comprehensive listings of appropriate codes in alignment with coding guidelines, national sources, and established rules.
  • Revise coding within policies as needed based on committee, management, medical director recommendations, or policy revisions.
  • Act as a valuable resource for company associates, addressing medical coding issues related to departmental documents, projects, and inquiries.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (if no degree)
  • Coding Certification (CCS or CPC)
  • Minimum of three years' experience in healthcare or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in medical coding systems, databases, and encoding tools
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
