Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to join our client in Frisco, TX! The CAO is primarily responsible for overseeing the Company’s Accounting function while supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with strategic financial planning and business decision analysis. The CAO will lead the production of all financial statements prepared under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The CAO will implement and maintain controls and processes on an ongoing basis to ensure the reliability of the Company’s financial statements, forecasts and other types of financial reporting. This Direct-Hire opportunity is offering $200,000-$250,000/year based on experience and educational background!
Responsibilities of the Chief Accounting Officer include:

Report directly to the CFO and interface with senior management team members, board of directors, shareholders and investors, banks and debt holders, analysts and advisors.

Ensure general ledger accounting compliance with GAAP and other best practices.

Issue timely and complete Company financial statements under GAAP.

Implement and monitor internal controls policies to ensure best in class controls environment.

Ensure Revenue Recognition and A/R policies and procedures are updated and maintained with controls in place to ensure compliance.

Monitor, forecast and report debt covenants.

Research and analyze accounting and tax matters, as well as evaluate current accounting practices and policies for continuous improvement.

Develop and implement various accounting procedures as well as develop, implement and upgrade financial systems and controls. Identify opportunities for automating processes and increasing efficiency.

Assess and evaluate the Company’s financial performance with regard to goals, budgets, forecasts and other initiatives.

Participate in the evaluation and diligence process of acquisition targets and other business ventures.

Lead accounting integration of acquisitions, mergers and other business ventures.

Determine the accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.

Manage the annual financial audit process with external auditors.

Assess competitor financial statements (including SEC filings).

Other duties and work assignments as directed by the CEO and CFO.
Requirements of the Chief Accounting Officer include:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

CPA Certification; continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements

10+ years’ experience in accounting leadership positions, including 5+ years’ experience in a controllership function

Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software

Extensive business experience and strategic knowledge

Skilled in Microsoft suite; proficient in complex accounting systems

Highly skilled in GAAP application
