Responsibilities of the Senior AP Specialist include:

Completion of several of the client's balancing reconciliation processes

Completion of several AHA balancing reconciliation processes
-
Submission of the AHA EFT Wire Transfer
-
Daily preparation and decisioning of the Positive Pay Exception File
-
Handling of the monthly PGRS (Provider Global Reimbursement System) PEP Adjustments
-
Completion of various Escheat related functions such as: Month end balancing reconciliation, researching escheat variances and inquiries, updating the escheat vendor system, logging of deleted escheat checks, review AHA escheat upload files for accuracy, etc..

Monitoring, tracking, and following up on outstanding payments for Garnished providers with the Legal department

Daily handling and opening of incident tickets through the Service Now system

Assembling of Funding requests for AmeriHealth Casualty’s clients
-
Verifying AmeriHealth Casualty’s clients funding totals
-
Daily PeopleSoft pay cycle
-
Active participant in the testing of PeopleSoft system Upgrades and bank payment testing
-
Various 1099 tasks such as: testing of 1099 files, 1099 balancing, addressing TIN mismatches on the IRS website, handling 1099 returned mail, etc..

Identifying outstanding checks for the Checks not Cashed and Due Diligence process and submitting data to vendor
-
Working with Claims/Refund teams on the research of AHA Due Diligence batches and submitting payment requests
-
Reviewing and assigning MPY requests received from business areas across the organization to AP Associates
-
Uploading MPY upload requests as needed
-
Monitoring and reviewing FEP outstanding checks over two years old
-
Maintaining and updating desk level procedures and other departmental reports/files
-
Working with the provider team to handle EFT failures and NOCs
-
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
-
Participates in complex projects assigned by management and all other duties assigned by management
-
Completes work with a limited degree of supervision
Requirements of the Senior AP Specialist include:

College Degree Preferred; not required
-
5-7 years of related experience; open to someone with less years of experience if they have strong AP and Excel experience

Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary
-
Ability to be flexible, adapt, multi-task, and prioritize
-
Detail and results oriented
-
Highly organized
-
Ability to work in team setting and individually
-
Working use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook (Excel skills required as they will be using Pivot Tables very often)

Working knowledge of various Highmark Finance applications (CMS, COR, MPY, Provider Profiles, INSINQ) - None of these systems are a requirement, just a plus!
