Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an HR Generalist to join our client is Seabrook, NJ! The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in bolstering human resources operations within a fast-paced consumer product goods manufacturing environment with unionized workers. As an integral member of the HR team, this position offers expertise in various facets of HR, including payroll, time and attendance, recruitment, leaves of absence, FMLA, record-keeping, communication, project management, safety, labor relations, and affirmative action. This Direct-Hire opportunity is offering an annual salary of $65,000-$72,000!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the HR team to execute recruitment efforts for our corporate office, encompassing advertising, sourcing, applicant assessment, and interview coordination. Facilitate new hire orientations and ensure adherence to employment regulations. Manage administrative aspects of onboarding new employees in the corporate office. Maintain applicant tracking and coordinate the annual AAP compilation for all locations. Keep employee files organized.
  • Provide comprehensive support for payroll and time & attendance, with preference given to candidates familiar with Kronos and ADP systems.
  • Offer administrative HR support, including legal research, policy and procedure clarification, and assistance in addressing issues and queries.
  • Act as a problem solver, identifying the root causes of employee concerns and working toward long-term resolutions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Talent Management to formulate job descriptions for various positions.
  • Coordinate transactional HR activities related to day-to-day operations, representing the company in unemployment claims and hearings. Participate in project teams and initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing HR strategies for client groups/plants, aiding in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage transactional activities linked to daily HR functions, such as processing payroll changes, handling employee life changes, responding to manager requests for HR-related information, and sending out HR communications.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, with a minimum of one year of HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in HR skills and experience, including recruitment and familiarity with software applications (MS Office, Human Resources Information Systems, etc.).
  • A sound understanding of HR laws and policies, encompassing employment law, disability, and benefits programs.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to handle multiple tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management skills.
