Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an HR Manager to join our client in Seabrook, NJ! In this role, you will be directly responsible for the comprehensive administration, coordination, and execution of human resources functions within a union facility with a workforce of over 150 employees. Your primary duties will encompass overseeing various aspects of day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, safety, benefits administration, recruitment and retention, new employee orientation, EEO and new hire reporting, and coordination of company events at the facility. This Direct-Hire opportunity is offering an annual salary of $95,000-$119,000!

Responsibilities include:
  • Hands-on management and execution of all HR functions at the site.
  • Collaborate with leaders to enhance business performance through expertise in workforce planning, change management, employee productivity, recruitment and selection, and employee relations.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees in alignment with company policies, legal considerations, and facilitate the resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Implement and execute employee relations programs and practices that foster a positive organizational culture and enhance management effectiveness.
  • Introduce and drive corporate programs, including policies, development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist management in crafting career development plans based on performance reviews, Talent Review, and other relevant factors.
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee training initiatives, including annual Talent Review, leadership development, and employee skills training.
  • Manage the performance management process and drive management in executing performance-related action plans.
  • Schedule meetings and ensure HR representation for "off-shift" employees (2nd and 3rd shift).
  • Serve as a key representative on the business unit’s leadership team, providing valuable input in strategic processes.
  • Manage and execute the recruitment process, including advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies for both temporary and permanent placements.
  • Oversee the new employee on-boarding process.
  • Maintain HRIS, payroll systems, time and attendance systems, and ensure data integrity.
  • Support the corporation's benefits team in coordinating and managing benefits plans, annual open enrollment, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with the site's safety committee to implement best safety practices, reduce risk, minimize exposure, and effectively manage claims.
  • Fulfill the role of the group's Safety & Risk Management Officer.
  • Partner with leadership to manage all required safety programs and training.
  • Supervise and cultivate staff within the Human Resources Department.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with the members of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union in various areas, including communications, grievance resolution, policy implementation, and compliance with the Collective Bargaining Act.
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive HR generalist experience in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Preferred: Two or more years of experience at the management level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Stays updated on laws and regulations impacting HR practices.
  • Demonstrates credibility and integrity.
  • Capable of building and maintaining relationships.
