Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join our client in Wilmington, DE! The Bankruptcy Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the Bankruptcy department. This Direct-Hire opportunity is offering an annual salary of $60,000-$70,000!

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of bankruptcy documents.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct legal research and gather information relevant to bankruptcy cases.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents under the guidance of attorneys.
  • Maintain communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and other relevant activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of legal documents, including after-hours filings when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other legal assistants and staff to facilitate seamless workflow.

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a legal support role.
  • Prior experience in bankruptcy law is highly preferred.
  • Legal education or exposure is advantageous, but training can be provided for candidates with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Additional Information:
  • The position requires onsite presence to provide direct support to the attorneys.
  • Attorneys in the Bankruptcy department often work later hours; flexibility to accommodate these hours is essential.
  • The role involves after-hours filing and general assistance, including some overtime on occasions with midnight deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • The candidate should be adaptable to occasional overtime requirements to meet critical deadlines.
  • The environment is dynamic, and the candidate should be prepared to handle varied tasks related to bankruptcy proceedings.
