Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Coding Coordinator to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Philadelphia, PA! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding related to technology assessments, medical policies, claim payment policies, and ad-hoc coding projects. This position involves collaborating with various departments, including Legal, Sales and Marketing, and Product Operations, to develop code lists, review coding sources, and maintain coding accuracy in alignment with established guidelines. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity offers up to $30/HR!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate medical coding for technology assessments, medical policies, claim payment policies, and ad-hoc coding projects.
  • Develop comprehensive code lists for benefit application, mandate application, and group exception requests.
  • Collaborate with key departments such as Legal, Sales and Marketing, and Product Operations to align coding practices with organizational needs.
  • Serve as a resource to company associates for medical coding issues related to departmental documents, projects, and inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Review coding sources and recommend appropriate codes in accordance with coding guidelines, national sources, and established rules.
  • Revise coding within policies based on committee decisions, management input, medical director recommendations, or policy revisions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years certified with CPC or CCS (from either AAPC or AHEMA – professional societies).
  • Must have cross specialty coding – surgery, E&M, drug, radiology, etc.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in healthcare or a health-related position.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using medical coding systems, databases, and encoding tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal instruction or supervision.
