Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Jacksonville, FL! The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing advanced cost accounting analyses, comparing estimated costs to actual costs, and preparing various budget reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency in NetSuite. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers an annual salary range of $80,000-$90,000/year based on experience!

Essential Functions:
  • Gather and compile cost information, maintaining a database concerning expenses.
  • Develop systems and procedures for cost accumulation and/or cost accounting functions.
  • Determine fixed costs such as salaries, rent, and insurance.
  • Predict, plan, and record variable costs such as purchases of raw materials, labor, and operational costs.
  • Review and analyze actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
  • Prepare necessary departmental and company-wide budgeting reports.
  • Review, analyze, and report actual profit margins.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
  • Determine and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide product sample costs for Marketing and General Accounting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • At least 3 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience with NetSuite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems other than NetSuite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
