Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a meticulous and experienced Controller to join our client in Fort Lauderdale, FL! The Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the client’s Firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $95,000-$115,000/year!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the activities of the accounting department to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for accounting operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, preparing periodic reports for review by Firm leadership.
  • Manage and reconcile operating, trust, payroll, and drawdown bank accounts.
  • Oversee daily treasury operations, including monitoring cash flow and cash management to ensure adequate funding for operations.
  • Prepare government filings, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as tax returns.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process, including balancing the accounting system and entering necessary journal entries.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in statement reconciliation, journal entries, month-end, and year-end processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
