Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Philadelphia, PA! The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all company employees. This role involves managing payroll data, addressing payroll-related inquiries, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing support for other payroll-related tasks. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity offers $19-$22/Hour!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other payroll data.
  • Enter and process payroll information using the company's payroll system.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Process payroll adjustments, such as retroactive payments, tax withholdings, and wage garnishments.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax returns and other regulatory reports.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Work closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, such as benefits providers and tax agencies.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in payroll system upgrades and implementation projects.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related field.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
