Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Controller to join our client in Chicago, IL! The Controller oversees the financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role collaborates with the Director of Accounting and manages day-to-day activities within the Accounting Department. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $135,000-$200,000/year based on experience!

Disseminate internal and external monthly financial statements.

Coordinate annual audits.

Develop and maintain internal controls for accounting operations.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Monitor and analyze financial performance.

Create periodic reports for review by firm leadership.

Reconcile operating, trust, payroll, and draw-down bank accounts.

Monitor cash flow and manage capital requirements.

Borrow against lines of credit as needed.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Handle tax returns.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

Balance the accounting system.

Enter relevant journal entries.
Qualifications:
-
5+ years in a similar role at an equivalent-sized company.

Law firm or professional services background.
-
CPA preferred but not required.
-
Proficient in statement reconciliation.
