Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking an Attorney Recruiter/DEI Specialist to join our client in Chicago, IL for a hybrid opportunity! The Attorney Recruiter/DEI Specialist is responsible for managing the daily attorney recruiting processes and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Firm. This role involves recruiting attorney candidates for various practice groups and collaborating closely with Firm leadership to align and implement strategic plans in both recruiting and DEI. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $80,000-$90,000/year!

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Firm’s DEI strategic goals, collaborating with the DEI Committee.
  • Lead diversity initiatives for law student and lateral attorney recruiting.
  • Manage DEI calendars, meetings, and events, including logistics and follow-up actions.
  • Draft reports on DEI progress and manage related budgets.
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Chairs, Recruiting Partner, and Firm Leadership on attorney recruiting strategies.
  • Source and recruit candidates using various tools and platforms.
  • Review candidate applications, coordinate hiring processes, and schedule interviews.
  • Maintain relationships with recruiting agencies.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system, generate reports, and address daily recruiting queries.
  • Draft and review offer letters.
  • Ensure recruiting policies and materials align with best practices and Firm strategy.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive recruiting process.
  • Assist with onboarding and training initiatives for lateral associates.
  • Support campus interview programs and maintain relationships with law school placement offices.
  • Coordinate evaluation and selection of summer associate candidates.
  • Organize law student outreach activities.
  • Collaborate on onboarding and training for Summer Associates and support their transition to full-time roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in attorney recruiting and/or DEI programming, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with candidates, partners, recruiters, and all levels of Firm personnel.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to drive results with a sense of urgency and meet competing deadlines.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating and business needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Adobe Acrobat; experience with VI Desktop, applicant tracking systems, SharePoint, and/or the ability to learn new software programs.
