Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Deductions Analyst to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Cherry Hill, NJ! The Deductions Analyst plays a crucial role in the Accounts Receivable (AR) team within the Finance Department. This position is responsible for addressing customer deductions promptly and accurately, while identifying and analyzing trends to influence customer behavior and prevent future deductions. This Contract opportunity is offering $26-$28/Hour!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of top Private Label and Branded customers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry and maintenance of trade settlements.
  • Verify promotion event details and align terms with trade customer contracts, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Identify trends in deductions, such as shortages, damages, unsaleable items, and pricing issues.
  • Review and manage deduction balances, ensuring receipt of proper documentation and information from key customers.
  • Develop and implement solutions to reduce and prevent deductions.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to resolve deductions, including working with field sales and brokers on short-paid invoices and backup documentation.
  • Follow up with AR/customer for additional documentation, including using customer web-portals.
  • Support the team Manager in reviewing KPIs and providing weekly/monthly updates.
  • Drive process changes in the deduction area (e.g., unsaleable items, shortages, payback).
  • Work collaboratively with various individuals within the department, company, external brokers, and customers.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and test new features/functions.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Perform other general accounting tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in consumer products manufacturing, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High technical aptitude and a proactive mindset.
  • Proven track record of being results-driven.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
