Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client for a remote opportunity (must be in easter time zone)! In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for our client’s centers within a specified market segment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This Contract opportunity offers $35-$40/Hour!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accuracy in the payroll system.
  • Audit quarterly and annual tax data; process adjustments and amendments.
  • Approve and manage payroll changes and updates in ADP Self-Service.
  • Review and audit payroll reports, including pay-by-pay and 401k reports.
  • Educate and train center leadership on ADP Timekeeping system.
  • Consult on payroll and tax-related questions.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager on HRIS maintenance and payroll projects.
  • Enter and maintain garnishment/wage orders.
  • Assist with ACA reporting and respond to DOL and BLS requests.
  • Handle unemployment questionnaires and employment verification requests.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws related to payroll, compensation, leave/FMLA, and benefits.
  • Enter Third Party Sick pay and assist in implementing new centers.
  • Follow internal processes, suggesting improvements when needed.
  • Support centers with payroll and benefits-related questions.
  • Provide backup support to other Payroll team members.
  • Maintain payroll system records and compile reports.
  • Maintain employee personnel and payroll files.
  • Proactively suggest departmental efficiencies and participate in goal setting.
  • Assist with tax registrations and resolve applicable tax notices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Prior experience administering benefits is preferred.
  • Expert-level user of ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now) with a minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing multi-site, multi-state, and multi-entity payrolls.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including payroll, time & attendance, and spreadsheet management (Excel).
  • Ability to analyze data and run reports within the HRIS.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage, plan, and prioritize work with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Team player willing to assist other team members as needed.
