Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Project Cost Accountant to join our client in Boca Raton, FL! This permanent opportunity offers $85,000/year. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including project managers and finance teams, to oversee budgets, identify variances, and maintain overall project financial health.

- Oversee project financial performance from start to finish, ensuring budget adherence and accurate cost tracking.
- Collaborate with project teams to address and resolve financial discrepancies or issues.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights to project teams.
- Review and process subcontractor work orders and pay applications for compliance.
- Manage project cost tracking, including labor, materials, and other direct/indirect expenses.
- Handle client invoicing and payment applications with accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform comprehensive financial reconciliations during and after project completion.
- Prepare detailed project cost analyses and reports for management review.
- Support audits by providing required financial documentation and reconciliations.
- Assist with producing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and related reporting.
- Continuously improve quality control processes and provide guidance to team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years in accounting, cost accounting, or related disciplines, preferably within construction or a comparable industry.
- Proficient understanding of accounting principles and software systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating across teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Organized and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to managing responsibilities.
