Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Non-Delegated Underwriter to join our client for a remote opportunity (must be in EST)! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting conventional and FHA mortgages, with a focus on non-delegated processes. This Contract opportunity offers $35-$45/Hour!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide detailed underwriting instructions for non-delegated conventional and FHA mortgage loans.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to review applications, ensuring they meet the required criteria and identifying best practices for various scenarios.
  • Work closely with global underwriting teams, providing real-time assistance and explanations of complex scenarios as they arise.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions on residential mortgage products, including conventional, FHA, VA, and non-QM loans.
  • Develop and deliver training materials, presentations, and workshops covering topics such as loan origination, credit analysis, risk assessment, and compliance.
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to underwriters, addressing questions and clarifying complex mortgage scenarios.
  • Stay current with industry trends, guidelines, and best practices to continuously improve training content.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive learning environment, encouraging professional growth among team members.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in non-delegated underwriting, particularly with conventional and FHA mortgages.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and coach peers or junior underwriters.
  • Strong understanding of the non-delegated underwriting process, where the institution retains full responsibility for loan evaluation and approval.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scenarios clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to stay updated with industry changes and apply this knowledge to training and underwriting processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
