Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Plant Controller to join our client in Williamsport, MD! The Plant Controller will provide financial leadership and support to the plant management team, ensuring the financial health of the facility. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers up to $130,000/year based on experience!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in plant staff meetings, offering financial insights and recommendations.
  • Support plant review meetings with financial analysis and reporting.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives focused on cost savings, inventory control, and resource optimization.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support plant and operations management.
  • Monitor, report, and audit cost reduction efforts.
  • Oversee inventory verification and control processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries during the financial close.
  • Analyze and present financial results, providing variance reports and reconciliations.
  • Generate monthly reports for plant management and provide insights for financial reviews.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Conduct cost and operating variance analysis to identify areas of improvement.
  • Support forecasting efforts and contribute to financial planning processes.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual operating budget, including the review and validation of assumptions.
  • Prepare comparisons of budget standards with prior year actuals.
  • Load budget details into financial systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate and support internal audit activities, including self-assessment reviews and responses to audit findings.
  • Maintain and oversee product standard costing.
  • Manage and reconcile annual physical inventory counts, including cycle counting.
  • Support capital expenditure requests and fixed asset audits.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to lead financial processes and contribute to operational decisions.
