Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our client in Bethesda, MD! The Junior Accountant will support our client’s finance team with essential accounting tasks, including general ledger (GL) account reconciliations, assisting with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), and participating in month-end and year-end closings. This permanent opportunity offers $70,000-$80,000/year!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of all GL accounts, including balance sheet accounts.
  • Support the review and approval of AP invoice coding for accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain pre-paid and accrual schedules, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
  • Participate in payroll accruals and job budget maintenance.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, contributing to timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate on budgeting and financial reporting, providing key insights into financial performance.
  • Take on special projects as assigned to support the finance department’s objectives.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on GL and payroll.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
