Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client in Bethesda, MD! The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and supporting the company’s financial integrity. This permanent opportunity offers $28.85/Hour!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for a large employee base, ensuring all payroll-related transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Manage employee pay changes, including salary adjustments, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Prepare and submit direct deposits and manual payroll checks when necessary.
  • Handle voids, reversals, and payroll corrections in a prompt manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll records, including banking details for direct deposits.
  • Administer and process payroll-related documentation such as garnishments, withholding orders, and tax levies.
  • Address and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, or other related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and tax regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations at both the federal and state levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive payroll data.
  • Familiarity with garnishments, tax levies, and other deductions.
