Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our client in Elk Grove, IL. This permanent opportunity offers $55,000-$58,000/year based on experience. This role involves supporting the HR department's daily functions, handling employee-related processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries and communications.
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and management of HR policies and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding HR procedures and organizational policies.
  • Aid in the performance management cycle, including evaluations and feedback processes.
  • Help manage employee relations issues such as disciplinary actions and grievances.
  • Coordinate employment verifications, wage garnishments, and child support requests.
  • Oversee unemployment claims and appeals, collaborating with third-party providers as necessary.
  • Manage requests for family leave or time off, ensuring proper documentation and coordination with external HR vendors.
  • Ensure proper processing of employee terminations, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Support employee referral programs and distribute referral bonuses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including attendance and compliance with equal opportunity regulations.
  • Regularly review work conditions and HR practices to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Take charge of internal communications, including producing monthly employee newsletters.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, ideally with a focus on HR.
  • Familiarity with core HR processes such as payroll, recruitment, and employee development.
  • Solid understanding of labor regulations and disciplinary procedures.
  • Proficiency in HR software systems and Google Workspace.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work well with individuals at all levels.
  • High ethical standards and reliability.
