Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Director of Tax Compliance to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Knoxville, TN! This permanent role is offering $150,000-$175,000 annually based on experience! The Director of Tax Compliance is responsible for overseeing the organization's tax strategy, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws, and managing tax-related processes. This role includes developing and implementing tax-saving strategies, managing relationships with external tax authorities, and providing guidance on tax matters to internal teams.

Lead and manage relationships with tax authorities, representing the organization during audits, negotiations, and inquiries.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.

Oversee the preparation, review, and timely submission of all tax filings, coordinating with external consultants as needed.

Develop and execute strategies to minimize tax liabilities and administrative burdens.

Provide leadership in tax planning, forecasting, and compliance processes.

Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization’s strategies align with evolving requirements.

Support the accounting team by preparing or reviewing tax provisions and ensuring accurate reporting of the organization's tax position.

Manage and provide oversight for sales tax processes and ensure compliance across other tax categories, including payroll, property, and business taxes.

Coordinate with and manage external tax consultants and auditors on corporate tax matters.

Foster collaboration across departments to implement best-in-class tax practices.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

Active CPA license is required.

7–10 years of relevant experience in a complex, multi-state, and multi-national tax environment.

At least 2 years in a tax leadership role is strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach.

Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

Acute attention to detail and ability to handle complex data sets.

Proficiency in tax software and related systems is a plus.
