Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Medical Coding Analyst to support revenue cycle management and medical billing operations. This temporary, remote position is open to candidates in CST, EST, and MST time zones. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing and coding, proficiency in data analysis tools, and the ability to identify and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently.
Compensation:
- $25.00 - $28.00/hour
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, standard business hours (9:00 AM EST start time, adjusted for time zone)
Key Responsibilities of the Medical Coding Analyst:
- Manage billing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring accurate claims submission.
- Support revenue cycle management with administrative and operational tasks.
- Identify and resolve payment discrepancies by analyzing data and investigating issues.
- Utilize Excel, Tableau, and EHR systems to generate reports and track revenue cycle metrics.
- Assist with denials management and navigate insurance company portals to investigate claim rejections.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
- Verify statements of work (SOWs) for accuracy and proper setup.
- Work with internal teams to improve workflows and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills for the Medical Coding Analyst:
- Recent experience with medical billing and coding (expert-level knowledge not required).
- Background in healthcare operations or analytical operations.
- Strong proficiency in Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Experience with Tableau dashboards, EHR systems, and standard Microsoft tools.
- Familiarity with insurance portals and clearinghouses, such as Availity.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills.
