Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Loss Mitigation Closer to support loan workout processes and help mitigate foreclosure risks. This Contract position offers an opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with candidates based in either Tempe, AZ, or Ewing, NJ. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and borrowers to process loss mitigation activities effectively while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compensation:
$25 - $27/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Hybrid schedule after training (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
Key Responsibilities of the Loss Mitigation Closer:
Obtain, submit, and track required documentation for investor, insurer, or client approvals.
Work with internal teams, third-party vendors, and borrowers to negotiate and process loan workouts.
Review and analyze financial documents such as hardship letters, tax returns, bank statements, and credit bureau reports.
Maintain accurate records in the Loss Mitigation Workstation, generate necessary documentation, and update the imaging system.
Communicate loss mitigation activity updates to foreclosure attorneys.
Ensure compliance with investor, insurer, and client guidelines for loan workout processing.
Prepare and manage detailed reports on loan workout progress.
Process payments related to suspense accounts, cash sheets, and payment plans.
Reconcile and finalize loan modifications and claim funds.
Facilitate system updates post-modification and ensure accurate documentation scanning.
Stay compliant with federal and state mortgage servicing regulations, including FDCPA, TCPA, RESPA, TILA, FCRA, and ECOA requirements.
Qualifications and Skills for the Loss Mitigation Closer:
High school diploma or GED required.
2 to 4 years of experience in a default servicing environment preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and industry-related software.
Knowledge of MSP and mortgage servicing regulations is a plus.
