Job Description: Our client, a leader in the development and production of biologic therapies, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join their dynamic research and development team. This position will support critical laboratory activities related to the development, testing, and quality control of biologic products. The ideal candidate will have strong laboratory skills, a passion for biotechnology, and a keen attention to detail. While the role is remote, candidates must be based on the East Coast to facilitate collaboration with laboratory teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and execution of laboratory experiments related to biologics, including the preparation of buffers, media, reagents, and cell cultures. Support the development and optimization of processes for biologic product manufacturing and quality control. Conduct routine assays and tests, including protein analysis, PCR, ELISA, HPLC, and cell-based assays, ensuring compliance with company standards. Document all experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems, maintaining accurate and organized records. Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments. Perform routine maintenance and inventory management of laboratory supplies, ensuring materials are available for experiments. Contribute to research projects by analyzing data, generating reports, and presenting findings to senior staff. Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments such as Quality Control, Research and Development, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless lab operations.
Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting (internships, academic research experience, or professional experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment). Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, cell culture, protein analysis, and chromatography. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols precisely. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and laboratory data management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and report results clearly. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with laboratory instruments such as HPLC, spectrophotometers, or mass spectrometry. Familiarity with regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP) and safety standards in biotechnology. Knowledge of bioanalytical techniques used in biologics testing. Experience with data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, Excel).
