Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Analyst to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their financial operations. This hybrid, onsite, temporary-to-hire position based in Philadelphia, PA, focuses on processing and reconciling payments, maintaining data integrity, and supporting internal and external financial partners to ensure accurate and timely payment application.
Compensation:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, standard business hours
37.5-hour workweek
Onsite at least 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Free parking available on Mondays
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Operations Analyst:
Accurately input premium and non-premium payments into designated systems using established procedures
Conduct cross-checks to maintain data quality and integrity
Follow departmental controls in line with MAR requirements
Use internal systems and bank imaging tools to research incoming payments
Collaborate with internal departments such as Accounting, Billing, and AR to allocate and reconcile payments
Coordinate with external partners, including bank vendors, to resolve payment issues
Meet internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for payment research and processing
Prepare and batch incoming mail in accordance with internal controls
Research and resolve payment exceptions, particularly during peak periods such as Open Enrollment
Understand payment adjustments and their customer impact
Maintain departmental production and quality performance standards
Process checks via Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) and virtual lockbox and complete related reporting
Proactively identify and implement process improvements
Contribute to projects as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills for the Accounting Operations Analyst:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with up to 2 years of related work experience
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Strong team collaboration and problem-solving skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes
High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred: Experience in treasury, especially in the healthcare or insurance industry
Preferred: Familiarity with Oracle applications and PeopleSoft
