Job Title: Senior Paralegal

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Paralegal to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their legal operations. This hybrid, temporary contract position, based in either Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, or Dallas, TX, focuses on litigation support, case management, and trial preparation across multiple jurisdictions and practice areas.

Compensation:
  • Up to $45/hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CT
  • Flexibility to start earlier or work later to accommodate West Coast teams or urgent deadlines
  • Preferred hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM CT (not required)
  • Flexibility with overtime required
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite (Wednesdays required), 2 days remote. Schedule may shift based on department needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Paralegal:
  • Maintain legal documents and databases, including managing electronic data collections, conducting searches, analyzing results using review technology, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit, and prepare legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Assist with discovery responses and document productions, including Bates labeling, production organization, and maintaining logs.
  • Draft, proofread, edit, and file court filings using state and federal eFiling systems.
  • Prepare and serve subpoenas and assist with service of process.
  • Conduct cite-checking and Bluebooking of briefs, memos, and legal documents.
  • Create tables of authorities and contents for legal filings.
  • Monitor and communicate case deadlines and ensure accurate calendaring.
  • Support witness preparation, including building examination binders for depositions and trials.
  • Assist with the assembly and tracking of deposition, hearing, and trial exhibits.

Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Paralegal:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5–7 years of litigation paralegal experience, ideally in a corporate or large law firm setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Kofax PDF, and iManage preferred.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal rules of civil procedure.
  • Experience with litigation support tools such as Case Notebook, Relativity, and ClientSite is highly desirable.
  • Strong legal research, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience with arbitration, trials, hearings, and exhibit preparation required.
  • Experience with JAMS or AAA is a plus.
  • Background in labor & employment law is a plus, but not required.
