Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Corporate Tax Manager to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their financial operations. This hybrid, permanent/direct-hire position is based in Sarasota, FL; Cleveland, OH; or New Hyde Park, NY, and focuses on managing federal and state corporate income tax compliance and leading a team of tax professionals. While the role offers location flexibility, candidates should be comfortable collaborating with a team primarily based in Sarasota, FL, and traveling quarterly (travel expenses reimbursed) if based outside of Sarasota.
Compensation:
$120,000 – $140,000/year
Bonus opportunities available
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, standard business hours
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite (not fixed days; flexibility required for in-person meetings and business needs)
Key Responsibilities of the Corporate Tax Manager:
Oversee the preparation and filing of federal and state corporate income tax returns for a group of U.S. companies.
Review and guide the preparation of quarterly estimates, extensions, and annual tax provisions.
Assign and manage responsibilities across the tax team to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Conduct detailed reviews of state apportionment and modification calculations.
Coordinate data collection efforts with accounting teams and external advisors.
Respond to information document requests from federal and state auditors.
Reconcile corporate tax accounts for financial reporting and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Engage in technical tax research and participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills for the Corporate Tax Manager:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of corporate income tax experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
Prior experience with both public accounting and in-house corporate tax is a plus.
Strong accounting and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
