Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our client’s team in Willingboro, NJ. This onsite, permanent/direct-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in construction and real estate, particularly within a multi-entity environment. The role is essential in supporting general accounting functions, internal reconciliations, construction draw analysis, and AIA contract documentation.
Compensation:
Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000/year
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Core hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Onsite (flexibility available after initial training)
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant:
Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries and monthly construction draws
Collaborate with project managers to review construction statuses and cost allocations
Oversee township escrow accounts and invoice reviews by project
Lead and support construction cost analyses and AIA application preparation
Balance vendor contracts and verify payment accuracy
Assist with CAM reconciliations for retail properties
Perform internal reconciliations across multiple entities and bank accounts
Support monthly and year-end closing activities
Provide accounting research and data interpretation for management inquiries
Maintain filing systems and scan financial documentation as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Staff Accountant:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required
1–3 years of accounting experience in a multi-entity environment
Strong knowledge of construction accounting and AIA documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office tools
Familiarity with property management and real estate accounting preferred
Experience with AppFolio and M3 Accounting software a plus
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and handle competing priorities
