Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our client’s financial operations with a focus on accurate payment application and reconciliation. This remote contract position is open to candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones and is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounts receivable and advanced Excel skills.
Compensation:
• $20–$30 per hour, based on experience
Work Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, standard business hours in either EST or CST
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
• Run daily and monthly financial reports to monitor payments and adjustments
• Download and process check images from financial institutions
• Apply payments received via check, credit card, and email
• Identify and apply outstanding credits
• Perform cash reconciliation and generate payment summaries
• Update payment statuses and manage related notifications
• Respond to accounting inquiries, including adjustments, waivers, and payment discrepancies
• Assist with new client account setups and invoicing
• Handle incoming calls from consultants and clients, providing resolution through research
• Prepare and send recurring ACH payment requests
• Manage monthly and quarterly invoicing for recurring clients, including mail merges
• Populate templates and budgets for various financial projects
Qualifications and Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
• Previous experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting function
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and spreadsheet management
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and maintain accuracy under deadlines
