Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to join our client and play a vital role in supporting accurate and timely payroll operations. This direct-hire, onsite position based in Audubon, PA focuses on managing the end-to-end payroll process, maintaining data integrity, and providing responsive support to employees and management regarding payroll-related matters.
Compensation:
- $95,000 base salary
- $7,500 annual bonus, based on performance
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Specialist:
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Collect, verify, and input employee time and payroll data, including hours worked, garnishments, benefits, and 401(k) deductions
- Review and approve timesheets, calculating wages and deductions in compliance with applicable laws and policies
- Communicate with employees and managers to address missing timesheets, approvals, and payroll discrepancies
- Distribute paychecks and respond to payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues efficiently
- Assist in year-end reporting, including the preparation of W-2 forms
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll practices
- Ensure confidentiality of payroll data and compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll laws and contribute to maintaining a compliant payroll function
- Represent the organization professionally and ethically in all interactions
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Payroll Specialist:
- 5–7 years of payroll processing experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience (10+ years) accepted in lieu of a degree
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and payroll software systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive, solution-focused attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Workday and ADP preferred; Workday Certification a plus
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations at the federal, state, and local levels
