Job Title: Accounting Operations Analyst
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Operations Analyst to join our client and support essential financial functions. This on-site, temporary-to-hire position, based in Philadelphia, PA, focuses on processing and reconciling payments, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

- Monday to Friday, standard business hours (37.5-hour work week)
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Operations Analyst:
- Accurately identify and enter premium and non-premium payments using established procedures
- Perform cross-checks to ensure data quality and integrity
- Adhere to department and compliance controls related to payment processing
- Research and reconcile payments using internal systems and bank imaging tools
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., billing, accounting, accounts receivable) for proper payment allocation
- Partner with external vendors, such as banks, to resolve payment-related issues
- Manage time-sensitive research and application of payments to meet service level agreements (SLAs)
- Batch and prepare incoming mail according to internal procedures
- Address exceptions and apply payments during peak and non-peak periods
- Understand various payment adjustments and their impact on customer accounts
- Maintain and monitor departmental productivity and quality metrics
- Deposit checks using Remote Deposit Capture and Virtual Lockbox and complete required reporting
- Contribute to process improvements and drive operational enhancements
- Participate in special projects and support additional tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills for the Accounting Operations Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with up to 2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to investigate root causes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Preferred experience in treasury operations, particularly in healthcare or insurance settings
- Familiarity with Oracle and PeopleSoft applications is a plus
