Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Loan Specialist to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their commercial lending operations. This hybrid, long-term contract position, based in Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE, focuses on the post-closing processing, servicing, and maintenance of commercial loan transactions and portfolios. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of commercial lending procedures.
Compensation:
- $25–$28/hour
Work Schedule:
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Hybrid work environment
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Loan Specialist:
- Manage a high-volume commercial loan servicing mailbox and respond to inquiries related to wire instructions, payoffs, and loan servicing requests
- Conduct transaction reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial postings
- Review and interpret commercial loan documentation to support accurate processing
- Ensure all post-closing documentation, due diligence, and organizational records are complete and compliant
- Perform in-depth research and resolve complex servicing issues efficiently
- Escalate unresolved matters appropriately and follow through on open items
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance loan processing workflows and recommend improvements
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills for the Commercial Loan Specialist:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in commercial banking
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial loan servicing, processing, or post-closing role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with nCino is a plus
- Strong understanding of commercial lending practices, compliance, and legal documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and diplomatic approach
- Ability to analyze complex loan data, identify issues, and recommend solutions
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
