Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Commercial Construction Estimator to support renovation and remediation projects across a variety of commercial sectors. This onsite, direct-hire position based near Deerfield Beach, FL, plays a key role in developing accurate project estimates, coordinating with vendors and field teams, and contributing to process improvement efforts.
 

Compensation:

• $70,000 – $95,000/year for candidates with 3–5 years of experience
• $95,000 – $115,000/year for candidates with 5+ years of experience

Work Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, standard business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Construction Estimator:

• Perform detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial interior and exterior renovation projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, narratives, and site photos to inform estimates
• Develop and maintain estimates using software such as PlanSwift, STACK, ProEst, or On-Screen Takeoff
• Collaborate with field teams to confirm logistics, site conditions, phasing, and risk factors
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals and lead bid clarification processes
• Manage Invitations to Bid (ITBs) using platforms such as Pantera or similar
• Prepare and compile bid packages, including pricing breakdowns, scope narratives, and schedules
• Participate in project handoffs and re-engage as needed for scope clarifications or change orders
• Support standardization of cost data and continuous improvement of estimating workflows
• Communicate effectively with client stakeholders during preconstruction to build trust and alignment

Qualifications and Skills for the Commercial Construction Estimator:

• Strong understanding of commercial construction systems, trade scopes, and project sequencing
• Proficiency in one or more estimating platforms (e.g., PlanSwift, STACK, ProEst, OST)
• Experience using Pantera or similar ITB software preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam; experience with Excel-integrated workflows is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and perform accurate quantity takeoffs
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience estimating commercial renovation projects (interiors and exteriors)
