Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our client and support key construction project initiatives from start to finish. This onsite, direct-hire position based in Cincinnati, OH, plays a vital role in supporting construction and engineering teams by coordinating technical activities, managing documentation, and driving continuous improvement in project execution.
Compensation:
- $50,000–$90,000/year (based on experience)
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
- Manage and maintain accurate project documentation and control systems
- Lead and track RFIs, submittals, and engineering/design reviews
- Support cost and schedule management to ensure budget and timeline adherence
- Collaborate with subcontractors to develop scopes of work and oversee onboarding
- Prepare quality and safety plans for project execution
- Ensure high-quality materials are specified and represented in drawings
- Perform material takeoffs and procurement tracking
- Coordinate with site personnel on construction methods and logistics
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project alignment
- Analyze performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement in project processes and documentation
- Generate and present project status updates to leadership
- Conduct compliance audits throughout the project lifecycle
- Occasional travel required
Qualifications and Skills for the Project Engineer:
- 1–3 years of experience in construction management or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Solid understanding of construction coordination and project workflows
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Procore)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to quality execution
- Experience managing project risk and implementing preventative strategies
