Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to support procurement activities for our client in the manufacturing industry. This onsite, temporary role based near Horsham, PA, plays a key part in managing raw materials, parts, and service orders to ensure uninterrupted operations. The ideal candidate will excel in vendor communication, purchasing processes, and working within an ERP system to meet short-term procurement needs.
 

Compensation:

• $36–$38/hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Specialist:

• Place purchase orders based on system-generated requirements and approved requisitions
• Manage daily quote requests, especially for outside processors
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and price mismatches in a timely manner
• Act as the primary contact for supplier inquiries and documentation needs
• Provide short-term forecasts to key suppliers based on historical usage
• Collaborate with supplier quality engineers to resolve any vendor-related quality issues
• Ensure procurement goals are met, including on-time delivery, price variance, and PO accuracy
• Generate SAP reports to support procurement activities and maintain accurate system data
• Keep procurement master data updated for delivery times, prices, and safety stock levels

Qualifications and Skills for the Purchasing Specialist:

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience, or educational equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems is a plus
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze issues, evaluate risks, and make timely decisions
