Job Title: Billing Specialist
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our client and play a key role in supporting their legal operations. This fully remote, direct-hire position requires candidates to reside near one of the following metro areas: Bedminster, NJ; King of Prussia, PA; New Castle, DE; Pittsburgh, PA; Bethesda, MD; Long Island, NY; New York City, NY; Scranton, PA; Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; or Philadelphia, PA. The role focuses on law firm billing processes, electronic invoicing, and client account management.
 

Compensation:

• $70,000 – $85,000/year, based on experience

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, standard business hours (in your local time zone)

Key Responsibilities of the Billing Specialist:

• Prepare and process legal billing, including time entry, pre-bill generation, and final invoice submission
• Review and edit attorney time entries for accuracy and compliance with client billing guidelines
• Maintain billing rates and update client matter information in the finance system
• Submit invoices through various electronic billing platforms (e.g., Legal X, Serengeti, Collaborati)
• Resolve billing errors and troubleshoot issues within e-billing systems
• Coordinate with attorneys and clients to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
• Set up new client files and budgets within billing platforms

Qualifications and Skills for the Billing Specialist:

• 3–5 years of law firm billing experience required
• Proficiency with electronic billing systems such as LSS, Legal Exchange, Allegient, Collaborati, Tymetrix, and others
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Experience communicating directly with attorneys and clients
• Familiarity with billing guidelines, budgets, and rate structures
