Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to support our client’s financial operations. This remote, contract-to-hire position is based in Chicago, IL, with occasional onsite presence required for document pickup. The role is responsible for managing accounts payable functions, expense processing, and supporting month-end close activities.
 

Compensation:

• $25–$27/hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Accurately enter vendor invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner
• Manage the accounts payable email inbox and act as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries
• Support month-end close by preparing and posting journal entries
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and P&L account reviews
• Process employee expense reimbursement reports
• Prepare monthly reporting related to financial associations
• Perform other duties and support ad hoc projects as needed, including travel coordination
   

Qualifications and Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Problem-solving ability and sound judgment
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
