Job Title: Legal Recruiter
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Recruiter to join our client and support their legal recruiting and HR functions. This hybrid, direct-hire position based in Chicago, IL focuses on managing full-cycle recruiting efforts for attorneys and legal professionals, coordinating onboarding logistics, and supporting internal programs designed to attract top legal talent.
 

Compensation:

  • $60,000 – $65,000/year
 

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, standard business hours
  • Hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
 

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Recruiter:

  • Schedule and manage virtual and in-person interviews for legal candidates
  • Prepare and distribute interview schedules and confirmations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, recruiters, and search firms
  • Draft and send communications including interview details, follow-ups, and rejections
  • Upload and track candidate materials in the applicant tracking system
  • Keep all recruiting records and reports up to date for transparency and accuracy
  • Prepare offer letters, welcome emails, and onboarding packets in collaboration with HR
  • Coordinate orientation schedules and workspace setup for new hires
  • Plan and organize recruiting events, job fairs, and outreach initiatives
  • Assist with the coordination of the summer associate program
  • Gather and compile interview feedback and maintain evaluation records
  • Maintain recruiting calendars, databases, and critical deadlines
  • Collaborate with marketing and DEI teams to support employer branding
  • Provide general administrative support to the recruiting and HR teams
  • Ensure all communications are handled professionally and confidentially
 

Qualifications and Skills for the Legal Recruiter:

  • 3–5 years of legal recruiting experience, ideally in a law firm setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor with sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using viRecruit or viDesktop
  • Previous experience working in a law firm environment
