Job Title: Mortgage Processor
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Processor to join our client and support the review and processing of mortgage assumption applications. This onsite, contract-to-hire position based near Trenton, NJ focuses on evaluating eligibility, managing documentation, and assisting applicants through the assumption process from intake to underwriting.
 

Compensation:

  • Pay Rate: $30.00-$32.67/Hour
 

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time schedule
 

Key Responsibilities of the Mortgage Processor:

  • Review mortgage assumption requests for eligibility in accordance with agency and investor guidelines (VA, FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc.)
  • Send assumption application packets to eligible parties
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for assumption-related inquiries, setting expectations for processing and timelines
  • Review applications for completeness and follow up with borrowers/applicants to obtain required documents such as income statements, bank records, tax bills, and fees
  • Ensure accurate and timely upload of documents into the loan origination system (LOS)
  • Track and maintain compliance with regulatory timelines and documentation standards
  • Enter borrower and loan data into the assumption software (Calyx)
  • Coordinate assignment of applications and prepare complete borrower files for underwriting review
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to application status or process
  • Support additional department projects as directed by management
 

Qualifications and Skills for the Mortgage Processor:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with Calyx software preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ethical judgment and understanding of compliance requirements
