Job Title: Trademark Paralegal
 

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal to join our client’s team and support a dynamic intellectual property practice. This hybrid, permanent/direct-hire position is based in one of the following major U.S. cities: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Orange County, CA; Houston, TX; Seattle, WA; Philadelphia, PA; Silicon Valley, CA; or Washington, D.C. The role plays a key part in managing domestic and international trademark and copyright portfolios, assisting with filings, clearances, and due diligence tasks.
 

Compensation:

• $60,000 – $140,000 depending on location and experience
• Higher ranges available for candidates in New York, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco ($91,500 – $146,325)
• Orange County and Seattle ($87,800 – $140,450)
• Washington, D.C. ($84,200 – $134,600)
• Chicago ($80,500 – $128,800)

Work Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (local time)
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
• Flexibility for occasional overtime as needed

Key Responsibilities of the Trademark Paralegal:

• Prepare applications for trademark and service mark registrations
• Submit prosecution and maintenance filings, including TTAB and title updates
• Assist with IP-related due diligence
• Conduct and compile online preliminary trademark clearance searches
• Prepare applications for copyright registrations
• Draft client and local counsel correspondence related to prosecution and maintenance
• Track deadlines and coordinate updates with attorneys and clients
• Handle other IP-related administrative and portfolio support tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Skills for the Trademark Paralegal:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
• 2–3+ years of trademark prosecution and maintenance experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Advanced legal research and investigation capabilities
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
