As a Machine Learning Engineer at our innovative healthcare technology company, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models that drive advancements in patient care, diagnostics, and healthcare operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in machine learning, data engineering, and software development, with a passion for solving complex problems in the healthcare domain. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver AI-powered solutions that are accurate, scalable, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
Must-Haves:
We are seeking a candidate with hands-on experience in building and deploying machine learning models, preferably with healthcare or medical data. You must be proficient in Python and ML frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn), and have a solid understanding of data privacy and compliance standards (such as HIPAA). Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, remote environment are essential. Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR), medical imaging, or clinical data is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for healthcare applications, including patient risk prediction, diagnostics, and operational optimization.
- Preprocess, clean, and analyze large and diverse healthcare datasets (structured and unstructured).
- Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and product managers to define project requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize model performance, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Document model development processes, methodologies, and results for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Stay current with advancements in machine learning, AI, and healthcare technology.
- Support the integration of ML models into production healthcare systems and workflows.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Experience with healthcare data (EHR, medical imaging, clinical notes) and understanding of healthcare data standards.
- Strong knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team environment.
Certifications:
- Certifications in machine learning, data science, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, TensorFlow Developer) are a plus but not required.
Required Years of Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or related fields, with at least 1 year working with healthcare or medical data.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
