Job Title: Pharmacy Operations Leader – Specialty & Infusion
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Operations Leader – Specialty & Infusion to oversee day-to-day clinical and operational activities for multiple pharmacy service locations in the Castro Valley, CA area. This is a permanent, onsite leadership role focused on delivering high-quality specialty and home infusion care while driving operational efficiency, team collaboration, and regional growth.
Compensation:
•?$170,000 – $200,000 annual salary
•?Bonus opportunities available
Work Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
• Must be located near Castro Valley, CA (occasional travel to other sites monthly)
Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Operations Leader – Specialty & Infusion:
• Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy and nursing operations teams to achieve high standards of clinical care and service delivery.
• Foster a collaborative team culture between branch staff and field sales teams, avoiding siloed operations.
• Align operational strategy with regional sales goals to support business development and growth initiatives.
• Ensure timely and compliant patient onboarding, overseeing the referral review and start-of-care process.
• Monitor budgets, direct costs, and financial performance while identifying corrective actions when necessary.
• Support sales efforts through client calls, proposal contributions, and strategic partnership development.
• Oversee adherence to clinical, regulatory, and accreditation standards including USP 797 and Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
• Participate in companywide QA and performance improvement programs to drive high customer satisfaction.
• Establish and review operational metrics and programs to continuously enhance service quality.
• Manage team performance, hiring, training, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications and Skills for the Pharmacy Operations Leader – Specialty & Infusion:
• Licensed pharmacist (PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy) with strong operations leadership experience.
• Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience, including 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• At least 4 years of experience in a specialty pharmacy or home infusion environment with both acute and chronic infusion therapies.
• Strong understanding of managed nursing services and the infusion therapy landscape.
• Track record of success in driving operational outcomes and supporting sales growth in the healthcare sector.
