Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Safety Coordinator to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their plant operations. This
onsite, direct-hire position, based in
Philadelphia, PA, focuses on maintaining and enhancing workplace safety and environmental compliance programs. The ideal candidate will lead safety initiatives, facilitate training, and ensure regulatory standards are met across all areas of the facility.

Key Responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator:
- Develop, implement, and update written safety and environmental plans in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Coordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings, including preparing agendas, recording attendance, and maintaining meeting minutes.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections; generate and follow up on corrective work orders.
- Lead safety training initiatives such as new hire orientation, weekly safety huddles, and annual employee training sessions.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records for safety training, environmental reporting, and regulatory documentation.
- Work closely with site leadership to identify and mitigate risks through ergonomic assessments and job safety analyses.
- Oversee regular audits of plant and distribution center safety practices.
- Ensure timely completion of safety-related maintenance tasks.
- Monitor compliance with safety equipment inspections, including fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, AEDs, ladders, respirators, and more.
- Manage labor law postings and assist with on-site drug screening.
Qualifications and Skills for the Safety Coordinator:
- 1–3 years of experience in a safety-focused role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards is required.
- Experience supporting operations in facilities with 500+ employees is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other language) proficiency is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Familiarity with industrial lift truck operation.
- Knowledge of Risk Management Plans (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
